Wander, an abused stray dog
Foreign worker bashes stray dog with metal chain, until its face is a bloody mess. On STOMP http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/this_urban_jungle/526440/dog.html
Yes this is a dog. Her name is Wander. She was bashed repeatedly on the face with a metal chain until its face became a mass of blood, flesh and skin. Fortunately, she was rescued by a kind shelter volunteer who took her to the vet. She is now recuperating at Mdm Wong's Shelter.
When I visited her today (3 Jan2011), I was shocked at the extent of her injuries. As you can see from the photos, her face is swollen with open wounds and covered with pus, blood, raw flesh and dead skin. I can only imagine the pain she is in. Amazingly, for a dog who is in such pain, she was still very good-natured, wagging her tail at me when I went into her enclosure, allowing me to pet and sayang her. Never once did she growl, whine or show any signs of aggression. How anyone can hurt such a friendly and lovable dog is beyond me.
She is understandably very stressed and in a lot of pain at the moment. And being in a shelter environment, where there are many strange dogs barking at her does not help much. I am told she has not been eating much. She will be going to the vet tmr for another check-up and we hope and pray the prognosis is good.
All I ask of you is to pray for her. Pray that she will have the strength to fight the infection and recover.

Wander you are BEAUTIFUL in our eyes!
Update Sunday 16 Jan: She looks much better than when I saw her on 3 Jan. Then her wounds were oozing blood and pus. And she was lethargic and stressed, hardly ever sitting down. Today, she was like a different dog, much livelier and cheerful, sometimes playing with her toys and sometimes watching the door to see who else was going to come in to visit her. The vet and volunteers have done a wonderful job and her wounds have improved a great deal. Although her journey to recovery will be a long one, I am certain she will make it and show the naysayers that Wander CAN!!!Wander you are BEAUTIFUL in our eyes!
